Louise Cooke, Osteopath from The Wellfield Clinic
Joints And Bone Health at Sully Menopals
In July we had our Sully MenoPals session at our new venue, The Old School on South Road.
Our guest speaker was Louise Cooke – Osteopath from The Wellfield Clinic – Our Osteopaths (wellfieldclinicpenarth.co.uk)
She gave us an overview of how menopause affects our bone and joint health, and the importance of keeping moving as we age.
Her services can help to alleviate an array of menopause connected symptoms such as hot flushes, frozen shoulder, migraine, and bladder control.
Louise recommended a book to help us get started, as we can sometimes do more damage by doing too much as we begin an exercise regime.
There was plenty of time for peer support and we all learned so much from one another.
Often when menopause hits is, it’s at a time in our lives when our children are starting to become young adults, and our ageing parents start to become frail, all whilst holding down a busy job.
All of these transitions can be difficult to manage, so it’s important to delegate where we can.
