Summer at Home Instead in Poole

Learn about our activities this summer, bringing together Home Instead's community of Care Professionals and clients.

Welcome to the warmest months of the year – the summer season! At Home Instead, our offices in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole are bustling with lively events and social activities that both our clients and Care Professionals enjoy.

Care Professional Coffees and Catch ups

One of the regular monthly activities we host are our Care Professional Coffee Catch Ups. Our Care Professionals provide care at home in Poole, and are out and about within the community, delivering care and companionship in our clients homes. So, we devised these meet-ups to allow all of our Care Professionals to come together, share experiences, and build our friendships. We split the coffee meet-ups into different locations, meeting at a cosy coffee shop, and then taking leisurely strolls, indulging in a coffee and cake and having a chat – it’s great to see each other outside of the work environment too.

Care Professional Coffees and Catch ups

For our Care Professionals who are pet owners, we also organise dog walks together. These outings allow us to meet the four legged members of the Home Instead family, and also keep us moving in the local area, all adding to the summer fun! We often hold family events such as summer barbecues and beach outings, where everyone in our Home Instead team, and their family members are welcome, can connect and enjoy a day of (hopefully!) sunshine.

Our caring community in Poole

Did you know that we’re sponsors of several local bowls clubs? We frequently invite our Care Professionals and clients to the open events and a game of lawn bowls in the summer is a treat. The game of bowls, which many of our clients might have enjoyed in the past, can rekindle hobbies for many of us including our clients, while introducing our younger team members to a fun new sport.

We like to get involved in charity fundraising, and we participate in charity walk events for organisations like Alzheimer’s UK, donning our branded t-shirts and walking as one team to raise awareness and support. Dementia support and Dementia Awareness Week is another major event we are proud to support.

We’ve loved to organise old fashioned tea dances and Sunday lunches. We plan to bring these back in future, ensuring that as the Home Instead Poole family continues to grow, getting to know each other, and the local community, making the most of these summer months.
