We are very proud to congratulate our Clinical Governance Lead, Michelle Tennant, who has been named a Queen’s Nurse by The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI), the oldest professional nursing organisation in the UK. QNI is a charity, founded in 1887 to organise training of District Nurses.
The Institute works to promote the best in community nursing and in naming Michelle, she is being recognised for her commitment to improving standards of care in the community and to learning and leadership.
Michelle joined Home Instead to help develop our ‘healthcare at home’ service. This sees our offices across the UK delivering complex community care.
Keen to develop her knowledge base further, Michelle has been studying for a PhD part-time for the last five years with Lancaster University and is due to complete it by the end of 2026. Her studies are exploring ways to increase and retain the care workforce.
Congratulating Michelle on the Queen’s Nurse accolade, CEO of Home Instead UK and International, Martin Jones MBE said, “Huge congratulations to Michelle.
“Her work is allowing our network to care for those with increased clinical needs and to support a greater number of ageing adults, whilst also increasing client safety through robust training and competency assessments.”
