Meet Simon - Care Manager

Welcome to Simon, whose dedication to quality care, strong leadership, and unwavering support for his team have earned him the title of Surrey's Care Manager of The Year.

Quote from Simon: “Greg’s passion for this business is what drew me here. He cares deeply about what we do, and that’s something I want to support.”

At Home Instead Reigate & Tandridge, we believe that great care starts with great people. That’s why we’re delighted to introduce Simon, our new Care Manager, who brings a wealth of experience and passion for high-quality care.

A Journey into Care

Simon didn’t initially plan to enter the care industry, but a chance opportunity 25 years ago led him to discover a meaningful career. He started as a carer in a home where many residents had learning disabilities. He quickly progressed to managing the home just three years later. Although the work was incredibly rewarding, it was also challenging, and after a decade, Simon felt ready for a new direction.

That’s when he met the owner of a brand-new Home Instead agency and learned about the home care franchise and its mission. The opportunity was exciting, and together, they built the office from scratch—starting with no carers, no clients, and not even any furniture. Slowly but surely, they grew the office into one of the largest in the UK, achieving an outstanding rating. Simon remained there for 14 years, overseeing its expansion and ensuring the highest standards of care.

Finding the Right Fit

After the business was sold and restructured, Simon moved on to another provider. However, he quickly realised that not all care providers hold the same values and standards. His experience reaffirmed his belief that Home Instead offers the best quality care and the strongest values in the industry.
Simon has always been driven by the desire to provide compassionate, person-centred care. He wanted to work somewhere where he could truly know the Care Professionals, staff, and clients. That’s what drew him to Home Instead Reigate & Tandridge.

A Reunion and a New Challenge

Simon had previously worked with Greg Brown, owner of Home Instead Reigate & Tandridge, when Greg was starting his career as a carer. They kept in touch over the years, and when the opportunity arose to work together again, it felt like the perfect fit.

Simon was excited by the chance to help grow the business while maintaining the personal touch that makes Home Instead so special.

“I love that in Reigate, we can get to know every Care Professional, every member of staff, and every client. It allows us to create a real sense of community, where everyone feels valued and supported. That’s what care should be about.”

Recognised Excellence

Simon’s dedication to care hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2019, he was named Surrey’s Care Manager of the Year—an achievement that reflects his commitment to quality care, leadership, and supporting his team.

Looking Ahead

For Simon, joining Home Instead Reigate & Tandridge is about more than just a job—it’s about being part of a team that truly cares. “Greg’s passion for this business is what drew me here. He cares deeply about what we do, and that’s something I want to support.”

We’re thrilled to have Simon on board, bringing his expertise, passion, and leadership to our team. With his help, we look forward to growing our services, supporting our Care Professionals, and ensuring that more people in our community receive the outstanding care at home they deserve.
