Home care in Rugby

Our experience with Home Instead has been really good. After caring for my father for many years, he sadly passed away this last year. He had complex needs with Parkinson’s and the staff were always willing to learn and help him in any way that they could. As Parkinson’s is changeable they had to adapt and did so with grace and understanding and respect for him in sometimes difficult circumstances. Highly recommended.

Every effort is made to find good matches between the client and the carer. Mum felt very well cared for by Home Instead, including during periods of holiday and absences for Covid. This was especially true when Mum was positive for Covid herself. Our family could not have asked for more.

The staff based in the office were always courteous and knowledgeable and always returned our calls if required to do so.
The carers were always prompt and presentable and looked after my mother in a professional and friendly manner.
In the three years my mother was cared for we never had any query relating to the monthly invoices.

I cannot speak highly enough about the Home Instead (Rugby) team. Nothing was too much for them and the exemplary standard of care was so reassuring for me as I live 150 miles away. Sadly, both Mum and Dad passed within nine months of each other but it was such a comfort knowing they were being so well cared for in their own home right up to their passing.

When my brother needed extra care after being in hospital we were given council carers, the carers were good, but they had too many clients and couldn’t cope so many visits missed. We then got in touch with Home Instead and liked what they offered. Nothing too much trouble we are all grateful to them all for looking after him with so much dignity right to the end.

The caregivers showed empathy, were always supportive, understanding of Mum’s condition and very respectful of our family home. They communicated well with Mum to discuss her daily needs and treated her with respect and dignity. They carried out their duties carefully and efficiently.

When my aunt needed more home care support, we looked around a number of agencies and chose Home Instead (Rugby) based on the reviews online, the CQC report we read and the initial enquiries and engagement with the Management Team. The continuity and standard of care over nearly three years before my aunt needed to go into residential care as her frailty increased, was exceptional, such that they felt more like family.

My Dad needed someone to spend time with him, talking, taking him out and such. He has a brain injury and finding someone that understood his complex needs has been challenging and upsetting at times. We know when Dad isn’t happy….he tells us in no uncertain terms! But he has had nothing but good things to say about his experience with Home Instead.

Home Instead have a friendly, flexible and professional approach to their care of Mum. They took time to get to know us as a family, involving us in creating a detailed plan as well as a set of goals to work towards. The carers are so kind and understanding as well as (importantly) capable and resilient when it has been necessary for them to be firmer.

Professional, efficient, friendly, well-managed, informative, caring, consistent, knowledgeable, pro-active, sensible, respectful; How do you describe the fantastic team at Home Instead? from top to bottom, all the above are applicable and allowed for Mum to remain safe, happy and independent until her last few weeks. Without them, neither we, or she would have managed.

The care was exemplary with time taken to learn about my dad, his likes, dislikes, what was important to him and how he needed to remain in control of his decisions, right up until his last hours. Therefore dad felt able to trust the care team. His acceptance grew to a warmth for not just the caregivers but also the manager and the admin team who did all they could to help him realise his need to remain at home and die with all that he loved around him.
