See how we're actively engaged with the communities we work within
At Home Instead Salisbury and Romsey, we believe in the power and value of relationships—between Care Professionals and clients, between the office and our Care Professionals, and between us and our local community. We also believe passionately that bringing joy to older adults shouldn’t be limited solely to those who are our clients. For these reasons, playing an active role in our community has been a key part of life here at Home Instead Salisbury and Romsey from day one.
In Salisbury, we hold monthly dementia-friendly matinees in conjunction with the Everyman. From Easter Parade to Cool Runnings and more, we laughed and cried our way through almost a dozen classic films in 2024, while also raising over £1,000 for local charity Silver Salisbury. We also run a weekly dementia-friendly group for older adults, Merry Memories, which takes place on a Thursday afternoon in Bemerton Heath.
In Romsey, we run a monthly singing group in conjunction with local dementia charity ROMDAG. We’re also proud to sponsor Romsey Rotary’s Walk the Test Way and we helped to organise last year’s successful Demfest event, which celebrated ten years of Romsey being a dementia-friendly town.
Every Christmas, we partner with local schoolchildren to bring some Christmas cheer to older people in the community through cards and handmade gifts. In addition, Jon, our owner and MD, is a trustee of a Salisbury-based charity for older people, Silver Salisbury, and is also involved in another local charity, Safer and Supportive Salisbury.
