This was just one outing with "The Hub" at Newby, but they run all year round.
The Hub is situated on Scalby Road just round the corner from the southern end of Newby Farm Road. It is a council funded and run community space and offers so many enjoyable activities, the group outing by coach to Irton Garden Centre being only one in a crowded itinerary all year round.
Irton Garden Centre is a lovely place to visit any time of year. The coffee shop and restaurant offers a mouth watering choice of menus to suit any palate and at this time of year has a delicious Christmas menu. We boarded our Country and Coastal bus outside the Hub and were driven to the garden centre with time to go shopping for Christmas decorations, gifts, outdoor jackets, plants, Christmas trees or sit and chat with friends over coffee in the cafe, which a few of our party chose to do.
The garden centre is extremely popular as a meeting place as well as being well stocked for the enthusiastic gardener. There are plenty of toilets and lots of parking. Dial a ride can be used to get there for those without a car.
Home Instead client MD commented “I feel safe here and there is always something interesting to look at and nice things to buy.”
At Home Instead we delight in assisting people to live as independently and fully as they are able. This includes driving them out to venues such as Irton Garden Centre or accompanying them for an afternoon quizzing or playing Bingo, just a couple of the many activities available to join in with at The Hub.
