There’s nothing better than starting the day off with a great breakfast and a good old brew. We’ve suggested four of our favourite places to grab a bite to eat in the morning, which would make for a wonderful start to the day, for an elderly friend or relative.

Whether you’re looking for something a little bit fancy to celebrate an important day or, just a quick bite to eat to set you up for the day, there’s sure to be somewhere that will tickle your fancy.
Opened in 1995 as an extension to the popular Scarborough Garden Centre, Deans. Gardeners Choice Coffee Shop serves a variety of hot and cold food, from a full English breakfast to freshly baked, home-made scones, there’s plenty of options for you to choose from, whatever your hunger levels!
Gardeners Choice Coffee Shop has a wide selection of speciality teas and fairtrade coffees to accompany whatever breakfast you decide upon. Conveniently located inside the ever-popular, Deans Garden Centre, visiting Gardeners Choice for breakfast is a great idea before spending the rest of your morning perusing the rest of what Deans has to offer.
Breakfast is served up until 11am. There’s no need to book, just turn up and the staff will get you seated as quickly as possible.
Deans is equipped with accessible toilets, disabled parking and has courtesy wheelchairs that are available to use, making it the perfect destination to start your day with a lovely breakfast.
Situated on Scalby Road in Scarborough, Corner House Coffee Lounge, has a great selection of Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch options available from Monday to Saturday.
This coffee lounge is a real favourite amongst our team, who regularly frequent there to sample their delicious cakes and tasty bacon butties. Very conveniently located next door to our office on Scalby Road, why not pop in and say hello to us, if you’ve been next door?
Corner House Coffee Lounge is open from 9am-15pm Monday to Saturday. There is no booking required, just turn up and the friendly staff will soon get you seated.

This traditional coffee lounge is one of Scarborough’s oldest, having first opened it’s doors to the public in 1981.
Emma’s Coffee Lounge, located on Huntriss Row in Scarborough Town Centre, is renowned for it’s friendly staff and warm welcome offered to every customer. Specialising in lovingly homemade food, Emma’s offers a fine menu selection for Breakfast, lunch and dinner and they even do an afternoon tea if you’re wanting to start your day off in style!
Emma’s Coffee Lounge supports local producers and suppliers and everything is made on site. If you’ve brought your four-legged friend along with you for the morning, you’ll be in luck as Emma’s is dog friendly too!
