Sheffield Client Marcus' shares with us his own accounts of an evening spent axe-throwing with friends, and his visit to Sheffield Arena to watch the filming of Gladiators.
Our South Sheffield Client, Marcus, and his Care Pro Andrea had a fantastic night of axe throwing last week, as well as a delicious pizza dinner with Marcus’ friends.
Below is an account of his evening in his own words:
“Myself and Andrea went axe throwing with a few friends and colleagues from my day service. First we went to my favourite Italian place Cafe Piazza at Cathedral and had a lovely meal. The food was very nice, the staff was very friendly throughout the meal.
Afterwards we headed over to the Boom Battle Bar where were greeted by lovely male receptionists. Due to the high levels of safety we had to have a staff member with us while we participated in axe throwing and his name was Connor and we had lots of fun and laughter for one whole hour from 6:00 – 7:00. It was the best decision I have ever made asking my friends from my day service to come with me and have fun axe throwing.
Roll on our next outing which will be karaoke!”
Care Pro Andrea also had a fantastic evening:
“It’s always a pleasure to spend time with Marcus, we get on very well and always have lots of fun and a good laugh. I never know what he has planned for me until I meet him and this time, we went axe throwing which Marcus has done before but I haven’t.
I feel very privileged to be able to try and learn new things with him.”
But thrill-seeking Marcus didn’t stop there; he also spent a Saturday night watching Gladiators at Sheffield Arena. He also very kindly wrote us an account this evening!
“We arrived at the arena around 10 o’clock then we went to the queue where we were greeted by the ticket staff they were very friendly. they asked me how they could help with my access requirements. Then me and Elaine went to burger king and we had a drink.
Then we headed back to the arena and waited at the door entrance until it was time to go in the arena
Once we were both seated, we watched the games being setup, played and taken down it was very interesting to see how the recording for Gladiators worked
Also in between the games being setup and taken down we had a dance competition and all the audience were featured on dance cam. While I was at the Arena I had pizza to eat which cost me £18. Afterwards we continue to watch more games and then we left around 6:30 – 6:45 then I got home by 7:00 p.m. It was a very long day but worth it. I absolutely enjoyed myself and hopefully we can do it all over again next year.”
