Oswestry held its first ever Pride event on Saturday (15th) and our Community Enagement Lead was there to show our support and to honour and support the LGBTQ+ community.
The day was filled with locals performing to the ever-growing crowd that was forming for the parade. From poetry, to dancing, to singing, there was definitely something for everyone to enjoy in the build-up.
The parade saw over 100 individuals march through the centre of Oswestry with pride flags and homemade banners. Local community groups, schools, businesses and individuals joined in, each giving their unique flair.
The weather luckily did not stop individuals attending the event with a key phrase in the day being ‘there are no rainbows without rain’, very apt to Pride.
Oswestry’s first ever pride was more than just a celebration; it was a powerful statement of acceptance and a beautiful celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.
At Home Instead, we are truly supportive to everyone within the LGBTQ+ community and we celebrate diversity. We actively promote a workplace where everyone feels respected and valued, and where regardless of background, equal opportunities are available for growth and advancement.
Oswestry Pride 2024 highlights Home Instead Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Oswestry as not just an ‘outstanding’ care provider but a champion of inclusivity and diversity.
