Be A Santa Campaign Is A Heartwarming Success

This Christmas time, we are filled with gratitude and joy as we reflect on the success of our Be A Santa Campaign.

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful community, we were able to bring smiles, warmth, and some Christmas spirit to socially isolated older adults in our community. With much appreciated support from Joules in Nantwich, Church View Primary Care Centre in Nantwich and Morrisons and Tesco Extra in Crewe, who so kindly agreed to have donation stations for us, we were able to collect close to 100 gifts who were then donated to Age UK Cheshire,Welcome to Age UK Cheshire and a local care home here in Nantwich, to be distributed to those who need them most.

Social isolation among older adults is a growing concern, especially during Christmas time when many can be separated from family and friends. At Home Instead, we believe that everyone deserves to feel connected and valued no matter their age or circumstances. That’s why Home Instead launched our Be A Santa Campaign to ensure that older adults in the local community felt the warmth and kindness of the season.

We asked our local community to contribute small, thoughtful gifts and we were not disappointed. We had donations ranging from cosy blankets kindly hand knitted and donated by a wonderful group of local volunteers called the ‘Nutty Knitters’, and gloves, to boxes of biscuits, gifts sets, chocolates and more. The response was overwhelming, with local residents, businesses and volunteers all stepping up to make a difference.

Over the course of the campaign, we collected close to 100 donations, which were carefully wrapped, packaged and delivered to seniors in our area. The gifts weren’t just about the material items – they were about also showing people that they are not forgotten and that someone is thinking of them. As the donations were distributed the reactions have been heartwarming, with people being truly grateful for this small act of kindness, and the campaign truly demonstrated the spirit of the community. We want to show our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed – whether through donating gifts, being a donation point or by simply spreading the word, everyone helped to make this Christmas season brighter for so many deserving older adults.

While this campaign has been a seasonal initiative, the impact it had will last well beyond the Christmas period. At Home Instead South Cheshire, we remain committed to combatting social isolation all throughout the year – through meaningful connections and support for our community. We are excited to continue building on the success of this campaign and finding new ways to make a difference of the lives of those who need it most.

Once again, our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in Be A Santa, your kindness has made a huge difference in the lives of so many older adults, and we couldn’t have done it without you. We wish you all a wonderful and joyful Christmas, from all of us at Home Instead South Cheshire.
