Ipplepen Community Hub

We at Home Instead always like to know what’s going on in our local towns and villages, and today our Community Ambassador, Peta, visited this wonderful Community Hub in Ipplepen between Newton Abbot and Totnes.

Open Tuesday to Thursday 10am to 4pm it offers a warm welcome to all.

Run by an amazing team of volunteers from the local community, you can pop in for coffee and a selection of enticing home-made cakes and treats or perhaps you’d prefer a savoury light bite from the menu.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays there’s a home cooked main meal for £5 with the option of a pudding for an additional £2.

The food looked and smelt amazing and is served with a welcoming smile.

In addition to the café, the hub offers a library service for local people who may find it difficult to travel to the main branch in Newton Abbot.

There’s a craft club which runs on a Tuesday 2pm – 4pm and a Card club Thursday 2pm – 4pm where you can come along and help to make cards that are sold at the hub to raise money towards its upkeep.

There are plenty of games and puzzles you can use or borrow and a parent and toddler group will be starting soon.

If you live locally, have a few hours to spare, and would like to volunteer at the hub, your help would be warmly welcomed.
