The story behind Home Instead…

Home Instead South Lakes was launched in early 2018 by husband and wife team Will and Judy Clay, (pictured here), whose passion for looking after older people was inspired by their journey to seek care for Will’s mother. Will experienced how difficult it was to find quality care. Rushed visits were the norm with different stressed carers focussing on completing set tasks rather than his mum’s very real need for companionship. Together they knew their mission was to provide the type of care they would want for their own loved ones – nothing less and help people enjoy their later years in their own homes as much as they can.

This is still our ethos today. We are passionate about providing OUTSTANDING care. Five years on and we now have 60 wonderful Care Professionals and support 60 clients all over the South Lakes. Last year we provided 60,000 hours of care and in 2022 won the prestigious Great British Franchisee of the year Award and our Care Professionals have won top awards including Carer of the Year at the National care awards and Best Newcomer at the British care Awards.

We recruit people from a whole range of backgrounds, but the one thing they have in common is that they have a genuine desire to make a difference. With the best training run by our Registered Nurse, ongoing career pathway opportunities and fantastic office support all our Care Professionals are able to provide OUTSTANDING care.
