We support all sorts of clients across Hamilton, Carluke, Biggar, Rutherglen, Motherwell and the surrounding areas, with differing support requirements. We make every effort to get a care package in place to meet the client’s needs when families, doctors, social workers, or clients themselves approach us.
On occasion, we work closely with local social workers by supporting their clients. On one occasion a few years ago, one worker that we had previously worked with reached out to us. Because we had worked with this social worker before, they were aware of our capabilities and how creative we could be, which is why he came to us with this unusual request.
He was working with a Polish family, whose mum (Lucyna) had dementia, and social work needed a care package to support Lucyna. We were asked if this was something we could help with, however, Lucyna does not speak English, so we needed care professionals who speak Polish. We told social work to leave it with us, and six weeks later we had recruited and trained Juliana and Magdelana, both Polish nationals living in Hamilton, Carluke, Biggar, Rutherglen, Motherwell and the surrounding areas. That was five years ago, and here is Lucyna and Enzo out for a walk with Juliana (she is taking the picture) last week, just as the spring weather has improved enough to get out for a walk with the dog.
