Home Instead South Manchester Celebrates 10 Years of Care, Community, and Growth

A decade after Home Instead first opened its doors in South Manchester, the award-winning care provider is celebrating 10 years of supporting people to live independently.

Since launching in 2015, Home Instead South Manchester has grown significantly, having employed 390 care professionals and having supported over 550 clients since opening. While the company primarily provides care for the elderly, it also supports individuals recovering from injuries, those with disabilities, and anyone needing extra help to maintain their independence.

Reflecting on this milestone, Alison Broadhurst, Franchise Owner of Home Instead South Manchester, said:

“It has been an incredible journey over the past 10 years. We’ve built a fantastic team of Care Professionals who go above and beyond for our clients every day. Seeing the positive impact we have on people’s lives is truly rewarding, and we look forward to continuing to provide outstanding care for years to come.”

Home Instead South Manchester was founded by Alison Broadhurst and Edward Hart back in 2015 with a mission to change the way home care is delivered. Looking back on the past decade, Edward Hart commented:

“When we set out 10 years ago, we had a vision of bringing high-quality, personalised care to the community. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and grateful to our team for making it possible. The need for care is greater than ever, and we’re always looking for more caring individuals to join us in making a difference.”

Home Instead South Manchester has received recognition for its commitment to quality care, most recently winning the Presidential 2 Award at the Home Instead National Conference for achieving its highest-ever care hours. The company has also been acknowledged within the wider Home Instead network for its dedication to best practices and its positive impact on the local community.

Beyond delivering care, Home Instead South Manchester is deeply involved in the local community. Alison and her team regularly support local businesses and initiatives, from spreading kindness through small gestures like handing out flowers to brighten people’s day, to advocating for fairer funding and better recruitment support in social care.

Recently, the team met with Jeff Smith MP to discuss the economic challenges facing social care providers, highlighting the sector’s contribution to the UK economy and the urgent need for better funding and policies. Alison and her team continue to campaign for change, ensuring that Care Professionals and the individuals they support receive the recognition and resources they deserve.
