Here are a few of the local markets you can explore and enjoy.
When you are looking for something different or just want to spend a morning looking and strolling with a friend, nothing really beats a local market. Fresh food right from the seller or that lucky buy from a car boot there is a market for every taste. Here is a quick list of some of our favourites.
Sutton car boot sale
If your living in Sutton you may be missing our local car boot sale that was opposite St Heleir Hospital on Wrythe Lane, Sutton/Carshalton, and while the new layout of the green looks lovely I am sure when the car boot comes back in May many of us will be back.
Wednesdays offered an eclectic mix of old household goods from clearance sellers based in and around the London area to those looking to make space in a loft. If you love a rummage then on a Saturday morning, then this was the place to be. You will find genuine households selling a range goods and clothing and you can swoop in and find the best vintage bargains.
Cheam Parochial Rooms
There is a market in Cheam every Friday 9am-3pm at the Cheam Parochial Rooms. There’s loads of eclectic stalls ranging from antiques to homemade jams and interesting jewellery, with so many types of stalls there is something for everyone after you have looked about then you can sit down for a cup of tea afterwards at one of the many cafes on the Broadway.
Wallington Farmers’ Market
Wallington Farmers’ Market is held from 9am to 1pm on the 2nd Saturday of each month, at the Old Town Hall and Library Gardens in Woodcote Road, they have a wide range of fresh, quality, seasonal British produce. You can expect to find fresh bread, fish and seafood, patisserie, artisan chocolate, English wine, cake, eggs, speciality cheeses, pies, cookies and cakes, artisan roasted coffee beans, healthy fruit and veg, preserves, locally reared meats, organic aromatherapy skin care and wax melts and so much more.
Chat to the farmers and producers about their products as well as meet up with friends and listen to the live music while enjoying the fresh food and lively atmosphere.
