Exciting News: Our 2024 Christmas Gift-Giving Campaign is Here!

We are excited to announce the launch of our annual Christmas gift-giving campaign for 2024!

It’s that special time of year again when we at Home Instead Swansea kick off our annual Christmas gift-giving campaign, Be a Santa.

Our much-loved Be a Santa initiative allows us to collect gifts generously donated by members of our local community. We then distribute these gifts to older people in the area who may not otherwise receive a present this Christmas or who might be separated from family and friends, making them even more in need of a little extra joy.

This year, we’re thrilled to partner with Swansea FC Women’s team to bring festive cheer in the form of thoughtful gifts, including everything from fishing books and cuddly toys to jigsaws and toiletries.

Helen Murray from Ty Olwen Hospice Trust shared her appreciation for the campaign: “At Ty Olwen we are continually blown away by the generosity of so many wonderful people whose generous gifts make such a huge difference to our Patients and their families.  Ty Olwen is a special place giving special care and love to all those who need it.  Thank you from us all”

To make donating easy, we’ll be hosting gift drop-off points across popular venues in Swansea, including supermarkets, garden centres, and the Swansea.com stadium. These locations will feature trees decorated with special baubles, each one carrying the name of a senior and a suggested gift on the reverse. If you’d like to participate, just pop by a drop-off point, pick a bauble, and then return the gift.

Reflecting on the campaign, our Marketing Manager, Kate Webb, said, “The local community has always been incredibly supportive. In previous years, we’ve collected over 300 gifts for seniors who otherwise would have received nothing.”

“Feelings of isolation and loneliness can be especially intense during the festive period, so it’s wonderful to be able to reach out and let people know we’re thinking of them. Hand-delivering these gifts and seeing the smiles on people’s faces is what makes this campaign so special. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some amazing people with incredible stories, and I can’t wait to do the same this year.”

“It’s also fantastic to be partnering with Swansea FC Women’s team for this year’s campaign. We’re so grateful for their support and look forward to collecting plenty of gifts to distribute.”
