There are two ways to make your initial enquiry: by submitting an enquiry form on our website or by calling our office.
Whether you enquired online or over the phone, our Care Manager, Lisa Rosser, will be in touch within a matter of hours. With nearly 10 years of experience at Home Instead—starting as a Care Professional herself—there’s no one better placed to answer your questions than Lisa!
Lisa will call you for a relaxed chat to learn more about you and your family, understand the support you’re looking for, explain our services, and answer any initial questions you may have. This is just an initial chat, and more details will be taken in the following step.
Our Care Consultation is a no-obligation, in-person visit at your home, allowing us to explore your needs in greater detail. We understand that for many, meeting face-to-face makes the process far less daunting and helps build trust, so you will be able to meet Lisa (Care Manager) in the flesh.
During this visit, we will work with you to create a comprehensive Care Plan, detailing the support you require—even down to how you like your tea! Our care is entirely personalised, and your input is key to ensuring you remain in control of your care package.
While in your home, we will also carry out a Risk Assessment to ensure everything is safe and suitable for your Care Professional to visit.
Depending on the complexity of care required, these consultations typically take between 1 and 2 hours. Based on your preferred start time for care, we can often carry out the consultation on the same day as your initial inquiry, if not within a couple of days.
Once the Care Consultation is complete, we refine and finalise your Care Plan within a matter of hours, ready for your approval.
At the same time, our scheduling team will begin our Care Professional Matching Process, which we take great pride in. We carefully consider all potential Care Professionals, matching you with someone based on characteristics, personality, background, and experience.
The beautiful friendships we see develop between our team and their regular clients are a testament to the success of this process. Once matched, you will have a regular team of Care Professionals, ensuring a familiar face at every visit. However, if you’re not 100% happy with your match, we’re always happy to try again!
So, your plan is complete, and you’ve been matched with your Care Professional—now it’s time for introductions! On the day your care is due to start, a member of our office team will accompany your new Care Professional to introduce them to you personally.
Your Care Professional will have read your Care Plan before your first visit and will be fully prepared to support you according to your personalised plan. They will have completed their induction and any additional training relevant to your individual needs. Rest assured, they will be the best-placed person to support you!
If you ever have any concerns during your visits, we offer a 24/7 office hotline, ensuring that support is always available whenever you need it.
It depends, but you could have care in place in a matter of days! In some emergency cases, we’ve arranged care on the same day, and we’ll always do our best to accommodate your needs.
For those who are more reluctant to receive care, we can make the process more gradual. We offer in-person chats where you feel most comfortable, provide the chance to meet your Care Professional before care starts, and begin with a small number of calls before building up. These are just a few of the ways we have helped even the most reluctant clients.
