This August we have launched an exciting new service: professional nail care in the comfort of your own home!
Keeping our hands and feet tip top is something many of us take for granted and manage ourselves, but sometimes it can become harder to reach to our feet and poor eyesight and lack the manual dexterity can mean it is not possible to give our own hands and feet the attention they really need. Mobility and transport issues can also make it a struggle to attend appointments outside of the home.
Nail care is a key aspect of keeping well, as many health conditions can be indicated by changes in nails for example brittle, discoloured or numb toes. These are best spotted and addressed early. Painful conditions such as ingrown toenails and infections can even lead to mobility problems. So regular management of our hand and feet nails is the best way to keep on top of this important part of our health and wellbeing.
Our new specialised at-home service in available to those who don’t currently have any other care with us, as well as existing clients who wish to use the service. We cover the area including Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett, Wroughton, Purton, Cricklade, Shrivenham, Faringdon, Wantage and Grove and the Vale of White Horse. We can come and provide the Nail Care service as a stand-alone service. Our Nail Professionals all have an accredited nail cutting and care qualification and are also fully trained Care Professionals.
The benefits of having a caring, trained, Care and Nail Professional individual attend to our feet go far beyond the health advantages. The experience is also a social time where the person can enjoy connecting and having a chat with the Care and Nail Professional and will experience the refreshing feeling of having a full manicure or pedicure and a relaxing massage too.
As you’d expect from Home Instead, the approach is safe and fully personalised and includes a pre-visit risk assessment which we look for conditions and will recommend clinical intervention as appropriate. After the pre-visit appointments can be booked for a full manicure, pedicure or both. Pedicures and manicures will include trimming, filing and cuticle management, as well as a full clean and a relaxing message. There are also the options of moisturizing and nail polish application to leave you feeling happy with your well-groomed hands and feet!
Regular nail care appointments at home can be arranged with the same Care and Nail Professional to ensure continuity that ensure a warm, friendly, trusted relationship which is so important for professionals visiting a person’s home to complete personal services.
Our nail services are not intended as a replacement for full chiropody, for example our Nail Care Professionals won’t carry out nail care on diagnosed diabetic patients as that requires specialised foot care from a GP. Our focus is on the preventative approach which can minimize the risk of infection. The flexibility of having this service in your own home means it can work around your daily routines in a way trips to clinical appointments cannot.
