Home Instead’s Charity Efforts in 2024: Supporting the Local Community
Here at Home Instead Lichfield, Tamworth & North Warwickshire, we are committed not only to providing exceptional care for our clients but also to giving back to the local community in meaningful ways. In 2024, our care professionals and teams came together for a series of charity events that made a real difference to individuals and causes in need.
Here’s a look at some of the impactful initiatives we were proud to be a part of this year :
As the winter months approached, our team recognized that many in our community were struggling to stay warm during the colder months. To help make a difference, Home Instead launched the Winter Warmers initiative. Care professionals across our network brought in coats, jumpers, scarves, and other winter essentials to donate to the Whitehart Community Hub in Atherstone.
The donations were gratefully received, providing much-needed warmth to individuals who might otherwise have gone without. It’s heartwarming to know that our small acts of kindness helped make winter a little bit brighter for those in need. We’re proud of our team for their generosity and the spirit of community that they continue to foster.
In May, we hosted our highly anticipated ‘Fun at the Fair’ event, bringing together members of our local Memory Cafés for a day filled with games, laughter, and camaraderie. The event was not only a chance for people to enjoy a fun-filled day but also to raise vital funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Through a range of activities, raffles, and donations, we were thrilled to raise £500 to support the incredible work of the Alzheimer’s Society. The funds raised will go toward supporting those living with dementia, as well as their families and carers. It was truly uplifting to see the joy that the event brought to everyone involved, as we celebrated the strength and resilience of those in our community affected by dementia.
Remembrance Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women. Home Instead was proud to support the Poppy Appeal in 2024, raising £250 for the Royal British Legion. Our team worked hard to raise funds and show our respect for the brave individuals who have served in the armed forces.
The money raised will help provide essential services for veterans, including support for those facing physical or mental health challenges. It was an honor to contribute to such an important cause, and we thank all those who donated and showed their support throughout this meaningful campaign.
In 2024, Home Instead took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, raising an impressive £121 for this incredible cause. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Special thanks go to Claire, one of our talented care professionals, who crafted and donated beautiful handmade bracelets. These unique pieces not only added a personal touch to the event but also helped raise additional funds for Macmillan’s vital work. We are incredibly proud of our team’s generosity and community spirit in supporting those affected by cancer.
