Rediscovering Keith's photography passion!

A perfect example of Home Instead companionship.....

In a world filled with fleeting moments, photography serves as a powerful means to capture and cherish the beauty around us. For many, it’s not just a hobby but a lifelong passion. Unfortunately, life’s challenges can sometimes put those passions on hold. This is the story of how dedicated care professional, Michele, helped her client reignite their love for photography, transforming not just their creative journey, but their overall well-being.

The Beginning: Rediscovering Photography

Michele got chatting with Keith about photography and showed him some wildlife photos she had taken ; his eyes lit up, and seemed extremely interested in the photographs.

Michele says “Eileen, his wife, said he used to have a camera many years ago. I offered to bring my camera for him to try a Nikon D7500 with a wide angle lens. He had a practice in his living room, and took photos of a plane he’d made. When the weather improved I asked Keith if he’d like to go out to Stowe pool and take some photos. He was very enthusiastic!”

Setting the Stage for Creativity

To help Keith reconnect with photography, Michele began by setting small, achievable goals. They started with a weekly photo walk around the Stowe Poole in Lichfield. Armed with a simple point-and-shoot camera, Keith found himself immersed in the sights and sounds of nature, rediscovering the joy of observation. He took some lovely shots of the reservoir, with Lichfield Cathedral’s silhouette in the distance.

Continuing the hobby…..

Keith has an interest in trains and planes, and has expressed that he would like to go to Trent Valley Station for his next outing with the camera. We look forward to seeing more photographs, and who knows, Keith may even build up a portfolio!
