Boscawen Park is a beautiful public park just along the river on the way towards the lovely creekside village of Malpas. It is surrounded on 3 sides by the river with lovely views of Truro and its ownderful cathedral and spire. The park has lots of facilities including a cricket ground, a children’s play area, newly refurbised all-weather tennis courts, a scout hut, public loos and a lovely little café. The highight of the park for many is walking through one of the many paths through spectacular flower beds. This is favourite spot for many of our clients and Care Professionals who live in Truro.

The Royal Cornwall Museum was founded in 1818 by the Royal Institution of Cornwall. The Royal Institution of Cornwall had an educational purpose, with the objective ‘to advance the education of the public by encouraging and promoting the study and knowledge of literature, natural sciences, archaeology, history, ethnology, geology and the fine and applied arts, with special reference to Cornwall’.
It is a wonderful place to visit in the centre of Truro and learn all about Cornwall and its historic past. It regularly hosts exhibitions and events and it’s Arts Café” is well known for its excellent food.

Enys Gardens are well worth a visit, and are situated in the countryside between Truro and Penryn. The gardens form part of the Enys estate covering over 30 acres and are believed to be one of the oldest gardens in Cornwall. open from 1st April to the 30th September Sunday to Monday 10am-5pm, this is a beautiful and tranquil place that is a particular favourite amongst our clients and Care Professionals who like gardening. Although Enys is particularly well known for the tremendous show of bluebells in the Spring, the rest of the gardens and woodlands are well worth a visit. There are also some wonderful historic buildings, but the centre piece is the Mansion House, built in the 1830’s to replace a more modest Elizabethan house which burnt down. This is rarely open to visitors, but you can walk right around it to admire its rather lovely proportions. There are toilets as well as the Garden Café, which of course serves Cornish cream teas amongst many other delicious things.
The Hall For Cornwall is the centre for all things arts-related in Cornwall. The 175-year old historic venue sits right in the heart of Truro and has recently been the subject of an extensive project to update it and make it a fantastic facility for the 21st Century. It hosts numerous plays, musical shows, concerts and lectures as well as providing a venue for visiting comedians. The Playhouse Bar is open during events whilst the Green Room Cafe is open weekdays.
