According to Age UK more than a million elderly people say they often go a month without speaking to a friend, family member or neighbour. Loneliness and social isolation are experienced by many elderly people, and it can lead to health issues such as depression and also impaired physical health if they are unable to get out. Home Instead offers companionship care at home to help alleviate these problems. Our Care Professionals can take clients out to the hairdressers, help clients engage with their hobbies, play board games, visit National Trust properties such as Scotney Castle and Knole Park or just visit a tearoom for a cuppa and a chat.

As with all our care plans, we tailor them to each of our clients’ needs and are led by what they would like us to do. By addressing the loneliness of a client other health issues can be averted and our clients can stay in their own home for longer where everything is familiar and comforting. It may be that our client has stopped phoning friends because they can no longer read or remember the telephone number, we can help with that. Seeing a friendly face, their regular Care Professional, several times a week can make a huge difference.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.
