If you’re someone who enjoys helping others, loves a good chat, and wants to feel proud of what you do each day, a job in home care might be the perfect fit. At Home Instead Tyne Valley, we’re all about supporting older and more vulnerable people to stay independent at home. And we do it with kindness, patience, and plenty of heart.

We’re not a big, faceless company. We’re a friendly, local team that cares just as much about our Care Professionals as we do about our clients. And we’re looking for people like you: kind, reliable, and ready to make a difference.

What Does a Care Professional Do?

You don’t need a medical background or years of experience to work in home care. Most of what we do is about helping people feel safe, supported, and valued in their own homes. That might mean:

  • Popping in for a cuppa and a chat
  • Helping someone get up, washed, and ready for the day
  • Making a light lunch or dinner
  • Taking a client to the shops or for a walk
  • Keeping them company if they live alone

No rushing, no ticking boxes, just time to really connect. All our visits are a minimum of one hour, so you’re never expected to dash in and out. It’s about doing care properly, with time to build meaningful relationships.

You Need Flexibility, We Understand

We know that life’s busy, and people have different schedules or want only part-time work. That’s why we offer flexible hours that can work with school runs, studying, retirement, or other jobs. Here’s what you’ll get when you join us:

Proper training — even if you’ve never worked in care before, we’ll teach you everything you need

Paid learning time and ongoing support

A local role — no long commutes or city traffic

A friendly, supportive team — we’re always here to help

Flexible shifts — mornings, evenings, weekends — whatever works best for you

Attitude Over Experience

Some of our best Care Professionals had never worked in care before. What matters most is your attitude. If you’re someone who’s patient, friendly, and treats others the way you’d want your own family to be treated, you’ll fit right in.

We’ll walk you through the whole process, from training to shadowing your first visits, and we’re always on hand if you’ve got a question or need a chat.
