Bringing Home Instead to the Tyne Valley in Northumberland was a journey rooted in personal experience and a genuine love for providing exceptional home care.
I’m Heather Hughes, owner and director of Home Instead Tyne Valley, and I couldn’t be prouder to be leading my extraordinary team here in our local area. Each member, from the Care Professionals who provide essential care for clients in their own homes, to our friendly office based Care Manager, diligent scheduling team and hard working Recruitment team, share the same motivations, we all want to provide a top-notch service that genuinely makes a difference not just for those we care for, but for their families too.
My journey to opening our Tyne Valley Home Instead in 2020, with an office centrally located in Hexham, was driven by my own genuine commitment to the Home Instead mission. After working at Home Instead in Newcastle, I was captivated by the Home Instead ethos and approach to care and it inspired me to open our organisation here in Hexham. Having experienced my mother’s illness and realising the glaring lack of quality elderly care available to us in our local Tyne Valley area, I was inspired by the thought of providing regular caregivers to older adults in their own home, who are genuine familiar faces.
With my nursing background, having been a Special Care Baby Nurse at Thorpe Maternity Hospital, I started on this journey to not just providing care in your own home, but also being able to build friendly and professional relationships while assisting with everyday tasks like shopping or running errands. It has been a rewarding journey seeing how our home care services can enable people to remain in their own homes, and how they can maintain their independence too.
We operate across numerous rural locations including Hexham, Corbridge, Riding Mill, Stocksfield, Wylam and Prudhoe, amongst others, providing quality home care to the heart of our local community in this beautiful area. It means alot that those who love their local area, with the help of home care, can stay where they are most comfortable, in their own home, and in their own bit of Northumberland that they love.
We specialise in companionship-based support, staying true to our ethos of personalised care beyond routine tasks.
Our expertise in supporting individuals living with dementia is backed by our unique City and Guilds accredited dementia training programme. It complements the practical experience of the team and rounds out our holistic approach to elderly care.
And at Home Instead Tyne Valley, our team truly is a family, united by our shared passion to make a positive difference to people’s lives. And it is this passion that drives us to go above and beyond, caring and also providing companionship and resolute support throughout.
To our fantastic Home Instead Tyne Valley team, I just want to say thank you and express my gratitude. Your dedication, excellence and compassion are what make us who we are. Thank you also to our loyal clients and their families for your trust and for recognising the effort we put into caring. It really is an honour to care for those in our community.
