Home Instead Watford’s Ambassador Program

We launched our in-house Ambassador program in late 2024, just before Christmas, with the aim of being more visible in our community. Specifically, we want to help and guide our elderly community and their carers through the home care options available because we think there is a big gap between the available community resources and your knowledge of and access to them.

Our Ambassadors are care professionals here at Home Instead, so they are able to answer most questions when it comes to home care. They are also very good at spotting potential partners who can help you with everything from mobility scooters to dementia cafe spaces.

So if you spot them at events or leafleting, say ‘Hello.’ We always love to chat and meet fellow Watfordians. We also want to hear more about what you need from senior care in the community.

So, What Have our Watford Ambassadors Been up to Recently?

Ambassador and Care Professional Annette joined Stephanie, Group Business Development Manager, at the Carpenders Park Care Home coffee morning. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some good conversation and share more about how Home Instead Watford supports older adults in maintaining independence at home.

Care Pro and Watford Ambassador Defin has been popping leaflets through doors in the area, chatting with families about home care for dementia.

Who We Pick as Our Ambassadors

That starts with what makes a great Ambassador. Take Defin; her commitment to patient and empathetic care makes her a great listener. Someone who you can talk to.

She is also passionate about what she does, which means she will help guide you through the benefits of quality home care. “Joining Home Instead Watford as someone coming from South Africa has been an eye-opening and rewarding experience. The onboarding process was thorough and well-structured, which helped me feel supported right from the start.” Defin adds, “I was impressed by the commitment to ensuring all new employees understand their roles and responsibilities. The training provided was detailed and included both practical and theoretical components, which made transitioning into my new role much smoother.” Having worked with us for some time now, Defin understands what we offer and how our services can be tailored to help.

She also understands ‘challenge’ and why getting the support you need is crucial to helping you live a better life. She says, “Being from South Africa, I found the cultural differences in the workplace a bit challenging at first, but I quickly adapted thanks to the supportive team and clear communication.” Define is now a strong member of our team, someone who we greatly appreciate and we know you’ll love to work with.
