Home Instead Watford recently had the pleasure of sponsoring an award for the Watford Borough Council's Audentior Awards 2025. Here's how the event went.
Watford Borough Council’s Audentior Awards is all about community. Celebrating the outstanding individuals, groups, and organisations that go above and beyond to make Watford a great place to live. They call it their ‘Stars of Our Town!’ celebration. And we couldn’t agree more with the sentiment, which is why we (Home Instead Watford) chose to sponsor the Carer of the Year Award.
The Audentior Awards were held on February 7th at the Watford Palace Theatre, organised by the Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, and the Chairwoman, Cllr Dawn Allen-Williamson. They also hosted the event alongside Lee Partridge.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “The Audentior Awards shine a light on incredible people who go out of their way to support our community. Whether it’s through voluntary work, public service, or simply being a good neighbour, these individuals represent the very best of Watford. Congratulations to all those nominated and to all the countless other unsung heroes in our town – you are an inspiration to all of us in Watford.”
Mr. Mayor continued, “I would also like to thank our headline sponsor, Allwyn, for their generous support in making this event possible. Their commitment to celebrating our local heroes helps ensure that we can continue to recognise and appreciate those who make a real difference in our town.”
Chairwoman of Watford Borough Council, Cllr Dawn Allen-Williamson, added, “It is always a privilege to be part of these awards and to hear the stories of those who give so much to our town. The dedication, hard work, and selflessness of this year’s winners and nominees are truly inspiring. These awards are a small way for us to say thank you for everything they do.”
The Chancellor continued, “This year’s awards, made possible through the support of sponsors, showcased the diverse and inspiring efforts of those who make Watford a great place to live.”

It’s no surprise that we chose, of all the awards, to sponsor the Carer of the Year. It recognises individuals who have given years of compassion and dedication to helping others. That’s a sentiment very close to our hearts and a big part of what we do here.
It’s also something we look for in every care professional we employ and a big part of their remit when working with our clients. To have the opportunity to recognise that in a carer from our wider community was a true pleasure.
Our very own Kelly Lavelle, Lead Care Manager at Watford Home Instead, presented the award to Enid Saunders.
Congratulations to Enid!
