Annual Fete Brings Joy to Clients, Families, and the Community

Our annual fete at Home Instead West Leicestershire brought together clients, care professionals, families, & local community members for a day full of fun & entertainment.

The event, which has become a much-anticipated tradition, was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connections and celebrate the incredible people who are part of the Home Instead family. With the perfect mix of activities and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, the fete was memorable for everyone involved.

A Feast for the Senses

The day kicked off with plenty of delicious food, setting the stage for a day of enjoyment. Guests indulged in traditional fish and chips, a favourite among many, alongside an array of cupcakes that added a touch of sweetness to the occasion. The food not only satisfied appetites but also gave everyone the chance to gather and chat in a warm, community atmosphere.

Our fete has always been about bringing people together, and this year was no different. With food and conversation flowing freely, it felt like a true community celebration, where everyone had the chance to relax and enjoy themselves. The smiles on the faces of our clients, care professionals, and their families spoke volumes about the joy shared during the day.

Fun Competitions for All Ages

One of the fete’s highlights was the series of enjoyable competitions we organised to keep everyone entertained. These activities sparked plenty of excitement and participation from guests of all ages. Our ‘guess the name’ competition for the Home Instead cuddly bear was particularly popular, with everyone eager to pick the perfect name for our furry friend.
Another crowd favourite was the ‘guess the quantity of sweets in the jar’ competition. This simple but engaging game encouraged some friendly rivalry, with people making their best guesses throughout the day. In a lucky twist, the winner of this competition was from our very own Home Instead team, adding a bit of extra cheer to the festivities!

Special Guests and Entertainment

We had some special guests join us at the fete; Local councillors made an appearance, showing their support for the work we do and spending time mingling with attendees. Everyone greatly appreciated their presence, and it added a sense of community spirit to the event.

Representatives from the Musical Memory Box also joined us, hosting a “Singing for the Brain” session. This musical activity is well-known for its benefits to those living with memory challenges, and it brought a lot of joy to our clients and their families. The lively singing and interactive elements of the session created a wonderful atmosphere, with many people joining in to enjoy the music.

Raising Funds for a Good Cause

In keeping with our tradition of giving back, we hosted a raffle alongside the other activities at the fete. All proceeds from the raffle and competition entries went directly to the Home Instead Charities Fund, which supports individuals and causes close to our hearts. Thanks to the generosity of our attendees, we raised an impressive £261.45 on the day.

This donation will go a long way in supporting the work of Home Instead Charities, helping individuals and families in need of care and support. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this event fun and meaningful.

Looking Forward to Next Year

The annual fete is always a special occasion for us, and this year’s event was no exception. From the delicious food to the lively competitions and the generous donations to charity, it was a day that highlighted the best of what our community has to offer. It brought together people from all walks of life to celebrate the importance of care, companionship, and community spirit.

Thank you to everyone who attended and made the day a success. We are already looking forward to next year’s fete and can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another wonderful celebration!
