Active You Project for Wirral

Active Wirral's Health Development Officer, and Active You Physical Lead, dropped by to our West Kirby office to discuss their latest initiative for Wirralians.

Active Wirral is an essential part of life for so many Wirralians, as they provide a broad range of activities for the local community, including Well-being Walks, Chair based exercise classes, Tai Chi, Indoor Bowls, Yoga, Line Dancing and much more. So, when Fiona Hanik, Health Development Officer, and Libby Boulger, Physical Activity Lead, called in to discuss the ‘Active You’ Project with our Community Engagement Officers, Ange and Pauline, they were delighted to hear all about this exciting new initiative.

Active You aims to encourage all local people between the ages of 40 and 64 to get outdoors and become active. Libby is thrilled to be leading the project at a community level, engaging with local organisations and local people across the peninsula to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. Fiona and Libby met with Ange and Pauline to discuss the project and its many benefits, which of course Home Instead will willingly advocate.

At Home Instead we support Active Wirral’s health walks, and Ange and Pauline regularly take part in the walks from West Kirby Concourse on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00pm – 1:30pm. They are also excited by this latest project, as it appeals to a much broader group of people including many of our Care Professionals.
