10 years at Home Instead York: “What I do feels like the biggest privilege I’ve ever had".

This month, we had the incredible opportunity to celebrate the 10-year anniversaries of two of our outstanding care professionals, Rete and Bex, who both began their journeys with Home Instead York in 2014. This remarkable achievement is testament to their unfaltering dedication to improving our clients’ lives through intuitive, and genuine care.

We asked Bex what she loved most about being a care professional at Home Instead York and she shared:
“I never feel like I’m going to work; what I do feels like the biggest privilege I’ve ever had. Being there for someone when they need you the most, in whatever aspect that may be, is truly humbling. Over the years, I’ve heard so many stories from my clients—some happy, some not so much—but I’m thankful for them sharing their lives with me and trusting me with their memories. It’s a special sector we have the pleasure to ‘work’ in.”

Rete reflected on her journey and said:
“I can’t believe it’s been ten years already. I love what this company stands for. Companionship is a huge part of what makes being a care professional so rewarding. Getting to know our clients and their families is not just important to them but also to us. The personalised care we provide makes all the difference, and it’s one of the reasons I can’t imagine working anywhere else.”

We feel incredibly lucky to be able to not only witness the longevity of our team members but also to see firsthand the dedication, compassion, and heart they pour into caring for others. Bex and Rete embody the true spirit of caregiving, and their passion and loyalty are a perfect reflection of our ethos here at Home Instead York: “Enriching Lives, Building Relationships, and Caring for Others.”
