The Story Behind Home Instead York, Scarborough & Ryedale: A Legacy of Care
Husband and wife team, Ann-Marie Roche and Luke Norbury started our York, Ryedale and Scarborough franchise over 16 years ago.
Deeply aware of the requirement for care, which is both genuine and personal, they set about creating a safe, reliable pair of hands to trust in, for the North Yorkshire community.
Spurred by their own personal experiences and a strong sense of responsibility, our care stands out with its irrefutably high standards and promise to always do the right thing – because that’s what we would expect, if we were you.
Ann-Marie’s Story
Introduced to care as a young child through her mother Margaret’s work in day care settings, Ann-Marie learnt from the best. Her firsthand experience with vascular dementia and its impact on her father’s health, gave further insight into the many layers of care. Ann-Marie’s former work in education and current work in care, paves the way for considerate appraisals and solutions to life’s sudden and unexpected events.
Luke’s Story
A dutiful, and proud son and grandson, Luke became aware of ageing and its many faces through his maternal grandmother, Cis who all of a sudden required more support at home in her dotage. A firm believer of ‘Anything worth doing, is worth doing well’, Luke took it upon himself to find the right care for Cis. Needless to say, it didn’t exist, and Home Instead, York & Ryedale and Scarborough was born.
As we celebrate our 16th year, the team at Home Instead York, Scarborough and Ryedale are proud to continue our work in the community, demonstrating our commitment to Building Relationships, Enriching Lives and Caring for Others.
