Creativity and the Written Word

Join Altrincham Library's vibrant writers' group to explore your creative side, connect with fellow writers, and embark on a journey of self-expression.

Engaging with community groups like ours is not only about honing your writing skills but also about stretching yourself with new challenges or rekindling a hobby from the past. These gatherings provide a safe space for you to feel creative and make new friendships, fostering a supportive environment where everyone's ideas are valued and encouraged.

Creativity and the Written Word

Discover the world of creativity at Altrincham Library’s monthly writers’ group, where aspiring writers come together in an informal and relaxed setting to share their passion for words. From poets to novelists, playwrights to short story writers, our diverse group of members brings a wealth of writing interests and experiences. Danielle finds the social aspect inspiring, while Sharon feels she’s found her tribe where everyone speaks the same language, regardless of genre.

Members have the chance to discuss their ongoing projects, share excerpts from their works, and receive valuable feedback from fellow writers. Plus, they benefit from helpful hints and tips on writing and publishing, along with news of upcoming competitions and opportunities. Occasionally, we invite guest speakers to enrich our discussions, and sometimes, we even enjoy a meal together after our session.

Facilitated by Katie, Kathryn Emma, and Tahira from Trafford Libraries, our group meets every four weeks on Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm in meeting room 3 at the library. New members aged 18 and above are always welcome to drop in and join us. For more information or to express your interest, please email [email protected] No need to book—just come and be inspired
